A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Delhi Police PCR van in the Thana Mandir Marg area on Thursday morning.
According to Delhi Police, the driver of the van accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the vehicle to mount a roadside ramp and hit the individual. The pedestrian died on the spot.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi), Hukma Ram, told news agency ANI, “An unfortunate accident took place here. The police are taking action as per the law. We will provide all possible help to the deceased, and compensation will be provided. We will check CCTVs. Further investigation is underway.”
Police officials are currently at the scene gathering more information.
