‘Software-Driven Fraud’ To Deletion Of Over 6,000 Votes In Karnataka’s Aland: Rahul Gandhi’s 10 Explosive Charges Against ECI

New Delhi: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi launched a scathing attack on the Election Commission of India (EC) during a press conference held on Thursday, September 18. Gandhi alleged large-scale voter deletion across various states, which he described as a “software-based fraud.” According to him, this operation disproportionately targeted opposition voters. He also accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of protecting what he termed the “destroyers of democracy.”

At the media briefing, Gandhi presented what he called irrefutable evidence and announced that a “hydrogen bomb” of revelations would follow soon.

Here are ten key charges levelled by Rahul Gandhi against the Election Commission:

1. **CID Sent 18 Letters, EC Gave No Answers**
Gandhi claimed that Karnataka’s CID had sent 18 letters to the EC over 18 months requesting technical data, including destination IP addresses, OTP trails, and device ports. However, the EC allegedly refused to share this data, which could have revealed the origin of the voter deletion operation.

2. **Fake Deletion Forms in 14 Minutes**
He cited the case of an individual named ‘Suryakant,’ whose identity was purportedly used to submit 12 fake deletion forms within just 14 minutes. Gandhi also claimed that a form attributed to ‘Babita Chaudhary’ was fraudulently linked to this individual.

3. **Software Used for Centralised Voter Deletion**
Gandhi alleged that voter deletions were executed through a centralized software system. He explained that an automated program would pick the first name from every booth and delete votes, with mobile numbers from outside the state linked to these fake applications.

4. **Dalits, Tribals, Minorities, and OBCs Targeted**
The Congress leader charged that the voter deletion system intentionally singled out Dalits, Tribals, minorities, and OBCs — groups traditionally seen as supporting the Opposition. Gandhi said this was part of a systematic effort to weaken democratic representation.

5. **6,018 Votes Deleted in Aland ‘By Accident’**
In Karnataka’s Aland constituency, Gandhi revealed that 6,018 names had been deleted from the electoral roll. The fraud came to light only after a booth-level officer noticed her own uncle’s name missing.

6. **’Vote Chori’ Focused on Congress-Leading Booths**
Gandhi presented what he described as proof of vote theft occurring predominantly in booths where Congress candidates had been leading. He noted that fake logins—such as one registered under the name ‘Godabai’—were used to attempt multiple deletions.

7. **CEC Protecting Those ‘Murdering Democracy’**
He directly accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of actively shielding those responsible for undermining democracy, stating, “The poll body is defending the murderers of democracy.”

8. **Called Poll Body ‘Destroyer of Democracy’**
During the briefing, Gandhi labelled the Election Commission itself as the “destroyer of democracy” for allegedly turning a blind eye to mass voter deletions and fraudulent activities.

9. **Commitment to ‘100% Truth and Proof’**
The Congress leader assured the press that every claim made in the conference was supported by verifiable evidence. “I will speak only with 100% truth and proof,” he affirmed, underscoring his commitment to constitutional values.

10. **Reiterated Warning of ‘Hydrogen Bomb’**
Gandhi reiterated his earlier warning about a “hydrogen bomb” of disclosures. He said the forthcoming revelations would be so explosive that “the Prime Minister will not be able to show his face to the country” afterward.

This press conference comes weeks after Rahul Gandhi alleged that over one lakh votes were stolen in Karnataka’s Mahadevapura segment during the 2024 elections. The Congress leader’s strong accusations have intensified scrutiny of the Election Commission as political tensions continue to rise.
