**Nashik: Comprehensive Health Services Arranged for Devotees at Saptashrungi Fort During Navratri Yatra**
Lakhs of devotees from across Maharashtra are expected to visit Saptashrungi Fort—either on foot or by vehicle—to seek darshan during the Navratri festival starting Monday, September 22. In order to ensure the well-being of pilgrims, the Zilla Parishad Health Department has arranged extensive health facilities this year.
Chief Executive Officer Omkar Pawar has directed the health system to provide seamless medical services throughout the pilgrimage period. Under the supervision of District Health Officer Dr. Sudhakar More and Taluka Health Officer Dr. Abhay Bengal, Panchayat Samiti Kalwan has been designated as the Yatra Chief. Medical Officer Prof. A. Kendra Nanduri has been appointed as the Health Staff and Coordinating Officer for the event.
Following an inspection of the Primary Health Centre, Prof. Nanduri along with the Health Department has formulated detailed plans to manage health services during the yatra.
**Health Facilities Available During Navratri Yatra:**
– OPD services at Trust Hospital, Ram Mandir, and Chhatri Point
– Six mobile health teams deployed across the pilgrimage route
– Updated ambulance services on standby for emergencies
– Provision of essential medications to patients
– Purification and regular testing of drinking water supplies
– Emergency medical services readily accessible
At the district level, a dedicated team comprising 42 medical officers, 80 health workers, and six ambulance drivers will be operational. These teams will function from several key locations including the water purification centre, Trust Hospital, health sub-centre, and the funicular trolley at Saptashrungi Fort, also handling administrative duties.
Health services at the fort will be provided in close coordination with Saptashrunggad Gram Panchayat, Saptashrung Niwasini Trust, and the Funicular Trolley Board of Directors to ensure smooth and effective management.
Devotees are encouraged to make use of the available health facilities and follow all safety guidelines during the pilgrimage.
