**Indore Municipal Commissioner Cracks Down on Builders Over Road Encroachments and Cleanliness Issues**
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Municipal Commissioner Dilip Kumar Yadav on Sunday took stringent action against builders for allowing construction materials to spill onto roads, causing significant traffic disruptions across the city.
During surprise inspections in various areas—including Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Park, Agarwal Nagar, Bhanwar Kuan, Janaki Nagar, Sapna Sangeeta Road, Navlakha, and IT Square GTS—Yadav instructed all building officers and inspectors to ensure that roads remain clear. He emphasized the importance of keeping the front areas of under-construction buildings open and free from any encroachments to facilitate smooth traffic flow.
Agarwal Nagar witnessed a particular focus, where Yadav ordered the immediate removal of tin sheds erected for watchmen outside construction sites that were obstructing traffic.
At the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Regional Park, the commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over the poor state of cleanliness. He reprimanded inspector Mangal Chauhan and directed him to strengthen sanitation arrangements. Yadav further instructed that any non-performing employees be removed to improve the situation.
While visiting Janaki Nagar, Yadav reviewed a newly built gazebo in the local park. He voiced concern over the stone benches, which measured just nine inches in width, deeming them uncomfortable for citizens. The commissioner directed the sub-engineer to increase the bench width to enhance public convenience and also ordered the proper arrangement of blocks on the park pathways. Additionally, he discussed with local residents the formation of a committee to adopt and maintain the park.
On Sapna Sangeeta Road and Old Agarwal Nagar, Yadav took strict action against walls and ramps encroaching on the mandatory setback areas of under-construction buildings. He stressed that adequate parking facilities and citizen convenience must be prioritized, warning officials to take stringent measures against any violations.
During the inspection of IT Square, the commissioner reviewed waste collection processes in detail. He inquired about the number of vehicles, their capacity, and the inflow of garbage from different areas. Yadav also instructed the timely removal of green waste to maintain hygiene.
The municipal commissioner’s proactive measures underline the administration’s commitment to ensuring orderly construction practices, smooth traffic flow, and improved sanitation across Indore.
