Just minutes before *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is set to return to airwaves, US President Donald Trump has issued an ominous threat.
The show is making its comeback on the US network ABC after Kimmel was pulled from screens following controversial comments about Charlie Kirk. Host Jimmy Kimmel has hardly been seen since he was sensationally dropped from US airwaves by Disney-owned ABC. The network announced the show’s indefinite suspension following criticism from Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr, who was appointed by President Trump.
However, less than a week after the suspension, Disney announced that *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* would be returning.
Now, just prior to the show’s return, President Trump took to social media to deliver a massive threat to ABC over the reinstatement of *Jimmy Kimmel Live!*
“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,” Mr. Trump wrote. “The White House was told by ABC that his show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his talent was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE? He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 Million Dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad ratings.”
*Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is scheduled to return to screens at 11:35 pm ET (1:35 pm AEST).
On social media, the *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* Instagram account shared a photo of Kimmel and show star Guillermo Rodriguez embracing, captioned, “We are back full of love.”
Ahead of the return, around 20 percent of ABC stations—those owned or operated as affiliates—announced they would not be airing the reinstated *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* on Tuesday night (US time).
In related news, *Twister* star Glen Powell was spotted at Kimmel’s studio, and musician Sarah McLachlan is expected to perform on the episode.
