**Mumbai Sends Rs 1 Crore Worth Flood Relief Materials to Punjab Amid Devastating Floods**
In a remarkable display of solidarity, the city of Mumbai has extended a helping hand to Punjab, which has recently been ravaged by heavy rains and severe flooding. Flood relief materials valued at Rs 1 crore have been dispatched from Navi Mumbai to assist the affected communities.
**Relief Convoy to Reach Punjab on October 1–2**
The “Team Relief – Punjab Floods” flagged off the relief materials from Gurdwara Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The convoy is scheduled to reach Dera Baba Nanak, one of the worst-hit areas in Punjab, on the 1st and 2nd of October 2025.
In this first phase of relief, 500 flood-affected families will receive specially curated household kits. These kits include essential items such as mattresses with covers, woollen bed sheets with pillows, blankets, gents lohi, ladies shawls, and utensils—everything designed to provide immediate comfort and support.
**Support During Dussehra**
On 2nd October, coinciding with the festive occasion of Dussehra, volunteers will spend the day with these families, offering much-needed emotional support, solidarity, and care to uplift their spirits during this challenging time.
**Massive Community Contribution**
This extensive relief drive has been made possible through the generous contributions of numerous associations and individual donors, mobilizing a total of Rs 1 crore. The convoy, carrying locally procured materials, will begin distribution from Khadoor Sahib at 8 AM on 1st October, under the blessings of Padma Shri Sant Baba Sewa Singh Ji.
Additional convoys will proceed to other flood-affected districts on 2nd October to ensure aid reaches every family in need across the region.
**Future Relief Plans**
Looking ahead, Team Relief plans to address longer-term needs by providing diesel, seeds, pesticides, and medicines aimed at supporting agriculture and reviving livelihoods. The team is also committed to assisting families whose homes were completely destroyed by helping rebuild houses, thus restoring shelter and dignity.
**Restoring Hope and Dignity**
Speaking about the initiative, Bal Malkit Singh, Chairman of Team Relief – Punjab Floods, said:
*”This is not just about providing relief; it is about restoring hope and dignity to families who have lost everything. Together, as one community, we can ensure that Punjab rises again stronger than before.”*
**Appeal for Continued Support**
The organization has urged individuals, organizations, and well-wishers to continue supporting these ongoing relief efforts. Collective action is vital to help rebuild lives and bring hope to the families affected by the floods.
