Stalker 2 fans have been eagerly awaiting several important features, and one of those has just arrived with Update 1.6. This update introduces night vision goggles and offset aiming, adding new tactical options for players. If you’ve been frustrated by your longer-range scopes sometimes becoming more of a hindrance than a help, you might find this new feature useful—at least, to some extent.
**How to Offset Aim in Stalker 2**
There has been quite a bit of confusion around offset aiming because it is currently tied exclusively to the new night vision goggles. That means, for now, you can only use offset aiming while wearing a pair of night vision goggles.
To use offset aiming, aim your weapon as you normally would, then press the default keybinding: `Alt` on keyboard or the PDA button on controller. This action shifts your weapon into an offset aiming position, allowing for better visibility and situational awareness when using night vision.
Interestingly, some weapons without scopes will automatically default to offset aiming when night vision goggles are equipped. If you prefer to use iron sights in a more traditional manner, there is an upgrade available from technicians called “NVG Adjustment.” This upgrade lets you use iron sights flush instead of offset while wearing night vision goggles.
As for why offset aiming is limited to night vision usage, the developers haven’t provided an official explanation. However, it’s possible that certain bugs related to different sight types influenced this design choice. Hopefully, future updates will expand this feature to a wider range of weapons and optics.
With the addition of night vision goggles and offset aiming in Update 1.6, Stalker 2 players have new tools to tackle hostile environments and tricky engagements. Keep an eye out for further updates that may refine and expand upon these mechanics.
