**Woman Arrested in Utah County After Chasing, Striking Ding-Dong Ditchers**

*MAPLETON, Utah (KUTV)* – A woman was arrested on misdemeanor charges after allegedly chasing and threatening a group of juveniles who had been ding-dong-ditching her home.

An officer with the Mapleton City Police Department responded to a “juvenile problem” after a resident reported that a group had rung their doorbell and then run away. According to court documents, the person who made the report followed the group through Mapleton and Springville to a random driveway.

Authorities said the caller’s wife then arrived at the scene and blocked the juveniles’ vehicle in the driveway, preventing them from leaving. Officials reported that she yelled and swore at the juveniles before pulling out a “pepper spray pistol” and pointing it at them.

The woman allegedly used her palm to strike one of the juveniles multiple times in the chest, according to the probable cause statement written by the responding officer. The juvenile was observed to have a red mark on his chest where he had been hit.

Police arrested the woman, identified as Lesa Ramirez, on multiple misdemeanor charges, including child abuse, threatening to use a dangerous weapon in a quarrel, and unlawful detention. Ramirez was subsequently booked into the Utah County Jail.
