Police have arrested Kohei Mitani, a 27-year-old member of the Akamatsu-gumi faction under the designated crime syndicate Higashi-gumi, along with three other suspects in connection with a recent criminal case.
The suspects are accused of kidnapping a 23-year-old victim in Amagasaki in June. The victim was then allegedly fatally stabbed with a knife in Nose, Osaka Prefecture.
Additionally, Ryusei Tokushige, a 33-year-old senior member of the Kenichikai group under the Yamaguchi-gumi, along with another suspect, was arrested on suspicion of abandoning the victim’s body.
As the victim’s body had not been located initially, police conducted an extensive search in the mountains of Kochi. Last month, multiple bones were discovered during the operation. Investigators have since confirmed that the remains belong to the missing man.
