Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi has issued a strong warning to Pakistan, declaring that India will no longer exercise restraint in future retaliations against state-sponsored terrorism.
“This time, we will not maintain the restraint that we had in Operation Sindoor 1.0. We will take actions that make Pakistan think seriously about whether it wants to retain its place in Geography or not. If Pakistan wants to retain its place, it must immediately stop supporting terrorism,” General Dwivedi stated.
### Strengthening Border Security
Addressing soldiers at an event in Rajasthan, the Army Chief urged troops to stay prepared. “If God wills, you’ll get an opportunity shortly. Best wishes,” he said, emphasizing the military’s readiness.
His remarks come amid rising tensions, especially after reports surfaced that the Pakistan Army has expanded its military infrastructure near the Sir Creek area.
### Defence Minister Issues Warning
On Thursday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also issued a stern warning to Pakistan against any misadventures in Sir Creek. He made it clear that any hostile actions would provoke a decisive response from India.
“The Indian Army and Border Security Force are jointly and vigilantly protecting India’s borders,” Singh added. He further highlighted that India’s military capabilities could potentially reach Karachi through the creek, underscoring India’s strategic preparedness.
### Prime Minister Modi’s Firm Stance
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated India’s readiness to respond decisively to any future terror attacks. “India has only paused its military action for now,” he emphasized, signaling the government’s resolve to act firmly when necessary.
### Reflecting on Operation Sindoor 1.0
Operation Sindoor 1.0 was launched in retaliation to the Pahalgam terror attack that tragically killed 26 tourists. The operation targeted terrorist hideouts deep inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Importantly, India avoided targeting civilian or non-terror military assets during the operation, underscoring its zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism while consciously preventing escalation into a full-scale war.
At the annual Air Force Day press conference, Chief Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh spoke about the operation, saying, “We took the call to terminate those hostilities because our objectives were met.”

India’s latest statements highlight a shift towards a tougher, more uncompromising stance against terrorism and underscore the country’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and security at all costs.
