
**Navi Mumbai: Karjat Police Recover and Return Stolen Property Worth Rs 10.98 Lakh**
Karjat Police have successfully recovered and handed back stolen and missing property worth Rs 10.98 lakh to citizens during the Service Fortnight initiative. The recovered items include 41 mobile phones valued at Rs 9.98 lakh and an ODT machine worth Rs 1 lakh.
**Investigation Leads to Arrest**
According to police sources, multiple complaints regarding missing mobile phones were filed at Karjat Police Station, alongside a theft case involving an ODT machine registered on March 4. In response, a special investigation team was formed to tackle these cases.
Utilizing the CEIR portal, the team traced the stolen mobile phones across several states including Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Tamil Nadu, successfully recovering all the devices.
The accused has been identified as Chandrakant Madhav Ankade from Daithana in the Nanded district. He was arrested on August 21. During his police remand, officers also recovered the stolen ODT machine valued at Rs 1 lakh.
**Police Praise Investigation Team**
Superintendent of Police Anchal Dalal commended the efforts of the investigating team, which was led by Inspector Sandeep Bhosale.
“The team recovered valuables worth nearly Rs 11 lakh. Similar efforts will be continued to ensure the safety and security of our citizens,” said Dalal.
