**Section of Old Prime Minister Excellence Building Collapses Again at Hamidia College**

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A section of the old Prime Minister Excellence building at Hamidia College collapsed once again on Monday morning. Fortunately, no one was present at the site at the time, preventing any major accidents.

Eyewitnesses reported that the collapsed section was part of the same old structure where, just last week, the balcony outside the Principal’s office had partially caved in. Despite visible cracks and repeated warnings, no inspection has been conducted by the district administration or the Public Works Department (PWD).

Staff and students have expressed both anger and fear over the deteriorating condition of the building. “We are attending classes under constant threat. The structure is clearly unsafe, yet no one has taken responsibility,” said one concerned student.

Teachers and students have demanded an immediate inspection and have called for classes to be relocated to a safer building without delay.

The old building, which previously housed the Arts and Commerce faculty classrooms, has been repeatedly declared unsafe by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC). Several smaller sections have collapsed over time, signaling a looming disaster if urgent action is not taken.

Student organizations have warned they will intensify protests if no prompt measures are implemented to ensure safety.

**Principal Highlights Ignored Warnings**

Principal Anil Sewani stated that the major collapse happened within just 10 minutes. “We have repeatedly sent letters to senior officials requesting repairs to the old building, but no action has been taken,” he said.

A formal warning was sent to the Collector and the Higher Education Department in June, highlighting the imminent risk posed by the building’s condition. Despite this, repair work has been continually delayed.

With safety at stake, the college community awaits urgent intervention to prevent any potential tragedy.
