**MP Ravindra Waikar Inspects Key Development Projects in Versova and Andheri West**
Ravindra Waikar, Member of Parliament for Mumbai North West, conducted an inspection on Tuesday of several ongoing and proposed development projects in Versova and Andheri West. His review covered critical infrastructure initiatives, including the Versova Mandvi Jetty Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Yari Road–SVP Nagar Bridge, Versova–Madh Bridge, Andheri Subway Bridge, and the Oshiwara Bridge construction site.
**Versova Mandvi Jetty Sewage Treatment Plant: Tackling Creek Pollution**
The inspection began at the Sewage Treatment Plant being constructed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) at Versova creek. This project aims to reduce pollution levels in the creek and boost fish production by treating wastewater that is currently discharged directly into the water.
BMC officials briefed Waikar on various aspects of the project, including the plant’s location, the drainage line connections, and the process by which treated water will be released back into the environment. The STP is targeted for completion by 2027. During the visit, Waikar offered valuable suggestions to enhance project execution.
He also visited areas where untreated sewage is currently discharged and assured local fishermen that the completion of the STP would provide them with long-term relief from pollution concerns.
**Addressing Monsoon Waterlogging and Traffic Congestion**
Waikar emphasized the challenges commuters face during the monsoon season, particularly due to waterlogging. To address these issues, he announced that a new bridge at the Andheri Subway will soon be constructed to prevent recurring waterlogging problems. A consultant has already been appointed to oversee this project.
Officials further provided updates on the proposed Versova–Madh Bridge, which is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in Mumbai’s western suburbs. Additionally, progress on the Yari Road–SVP Nagar Bridge was discussed, a development aimed at improving traffic flow in Andheri West.
**Oshiwara Bridge Construction Progress**
Later in the day, Waikar inspected the Oshiwara Bridge construction site, noting that progress has been slow. BMC officials assured him that despite the delays, the bridge is slated to be fully open for vehicular traffic by December 2025.

These infrastructure projects, once completed, are poised to enhance urban mobility, reduce pollution, and improve the overall quality of life for residents and commuters in Mumbai North West.
