Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced that sanitation and contractual workers in Uttar Pradesh will now receive their salaries directly through government corporations, thereby eliminating private outsourcing intermediaries. This move aims to ensure timely and transparent payment to the workers.

Additionally, the Chief Minister declared that sanitation workers will be provided with ₹5 lakh health insurance cover along with accident compensation ranging from ₹35 to ₹40 lakh through arrangements made with banks. This initiative is set to enhance the welfare and security of these essential workers.

Valmiki Heritage and Education

Speaking at the Maharshi Valmiki Manifestation Day ceremony held at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, the CM emphasized the importance of the Valmiki community. He stated, “Your safety is society’s safety; your respect is respect for Valmiki’s heritage.” He encouraged the community to focus on educating their children and empowering future leaders.

Legacy of Character and Righteousness

Highlighting the legacy of Maharshi Valmiki, Yogi Adityanath noted that the sage established enduring ideals of character and righteousness through the epic Ramayana. He drew attention to Lord Ram’s conduct as a timeless model of propriety, remarking, “Ram never violated the line of propriety—the Lakshman Rekha.”

Political Context and Call for Unity

The event was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, BJP State President Bhupendra Singh, and several other ministers. During his address, the Chief Minister criticized opposition parties for engaging in “vote bank politics” and overlooking the values upheld by Maharshi Valmiki. He reiterated that the double-engine government is committed to realizing “Ram Rajya,” envisioned as a discrimination-free society.
