MANILA, Philippines – The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Tuesday announced a $400-million policy-based loan aimed at boosting the Philippines’ insurance sector.

The loan will help create an enabling environment that encourages broader participation in the industry.

Called the Insurance Reform Program, Subprogram 1, this initiative supports wider financial sector development reforms, particularly in regulation and supervision.

It also aims to promote greater intermediation of long-term financial resources, strengthening the overall insurance market in the country.
