Tonight on The Stevetendo Show, we’re diving back into our playthrough of *The Messenger*. This game feels like a blend of classic platforming, reminiscent of *Ninja Gaiden*, combined with engaging Metroidvania elements. As this is my first time playing *The Messenger*, I’ve really enjoyed the experience so far. One standout gameplay mechanic is the ability to jump between 8-bit and 16-bit graphics, which adds a unique and nostalgic flair to the game.
That said, there is one drawback I’ve noticed: the inability to attack upwards. It can make certain situations a bit challenging.
In our last episode of *The Messenger*, we found more music notes essential for unlocking the music box inside the Tower of Time. Tracking down these keys has proven to be quite a challenge, but thankfully, we can save up our in-game currency to purchase hints on their locations.
It definitely feels like we are nearing the end of *The Messenger*, though I’ve been mistaken about that before in previous playthroughs.
Join us LIVE tonight at 5 p.m. PDT / 8 p.m. EDT on The Stevetendo Show as we continue our adventure. Shackers who want to join the fun can head over to the Shacknews Twitch channel, where The Stevetendo Show streams every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
If you can’t make tonight’s show, be sure to catch Monday nights at 6 p.m. PDT / 9 p.m. EDT for Shacker’s Choice night. I’ll be playing *Crow Country* for the very first time! Plus, our *Donkey Kong Bananza* playthrough will continue next week — the action is really heating up, and you won’t want to miss it.
To keep up with all the action, subscribe to the Shacknews VODs YouTube channel and follow the Shacknews Twitch channel. This way, you can catch up on your favorite Shacknews programs anytime.
Also, did you know Shacknews offers a handy new service called Shackmaps? Our awesome team has combed through some of your favorite games to help you avoid getting lost. It’s definitely worth checking out!
Looking ahead, keep an eye out for scary games every Monday night throughout October. Afterward, *Super Mario Galaxy 2* will take over the Monday night slot, replacing Mario Kart Monday with Super Mario Monday.
With *Donkey Kong Bananza* and *The Messenger* almost complete, we’ll be launching exciting new playthroughs on the show soon. If we finish *The Messenger* tonight, I’ll share my final thoughts on the game, as well as ideas on what might take its place in The Stevetendo Show rotation.
Got suggestions for new games you’d love to see featured? Let me know! If it’s available on the Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch Online service, it could star in an upcoming episode.
Nintendo is always adding new titles to the Nintendo Switch Online service, so stay tuned for updates and surprises.
See you tonight on The Stevetendo Show!
