Every so often, we come across cat haters on social media who perpetuate the false idea that cats are aloof creatures. They claim that cats don’t care about their humans and only tolerate us because we provide food. Of course, this is simply not true.
Anyone with even a basic understanding of cats knows that cats deeply love their humans. There’s no question about it.
That said, some cats can be antisocial. But this doesn’t mean they represent all cats. It’s similar to humans—not everyone likes everyone else, but that doesn’t define the whole species.
These particular cats don’t generally dislike humans specifically; they tend to be wary of most people. Only a few special individuals manage to break through their walls and melt their seemingly stone-cold hearts.
Winning over such a cat takes a lot of work, persistence, patience, and the ability to face rejection repeatedly. If there is one creature in the world that embodies these qualities in abundance, it is, of course, kittens.
