
The Templeton Eagles remain undefeated after a dominant performance against the San Luis Tigers on Friday night in Templeton. The Eagles secured a convincing 48-7 victory to improve their season record to 8-0.
The Tigers struck first with two long touchdown passes. Junior Grady Garrison caught a 43-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, giving San Luis an early lead. However, the Eagles quickly took control of the game and never looked back.
Templeton’s junior quarterback, Colton Tannehell, completed 8 of 14 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Tyler Cunningham had an outstanding performance, rushing 20 times for 262 yards and scoring four touchdowns.
Looking ahead, Templeton will host Nipomo next Friday for their final home game of the regular season. It will also be Senior Night for the Eagles. Nipomo enters the game with a 5-3 overall record and is undefeated in conference play at 2-0.
The Eagles’ final regular-season game is scheduled for Thursday afternoon, October 30, at 3 p.m. in Lompoc against Cabrillo. The Conquistadores hold a 6-2 overall record and are 1-1 in league play.
Additionally, Friday night’s game included a special tribute to the Templeton seniors who participate in the band, as they were honored on Band Seniors’ Night.
