The Arbucep: Nokko’s Signature Archgun in Warframe
The Arbucep is Nokko’s signature Archgun, introduced to Warframe with The Vallis Undermind update. This weapon is a lot of fun to use, firing clusters of homing missiles that seek out enemies and detonate, dealing high damage along with clouds of area-of-effect damage. Each missile delivers a different type of elemental damage, and their unpredictable tracking adds an exciting touch of randomness to combat.
Why the Arbucep is One of the Best Archguns
The Arbucep is a strong contender for one of the best overall Archguns in Warframe. It can effortlessly wipe out entire rooms and clear corridors quickly. I have tested it against enemies up to about Level 500, and it performs excellently. While I typically don’t push testing beyond this point, the build I’ll share below is designed to be solid and accessible for most players, not just those tackling the highest level content.
As an Archgun, you can now equip both a Primary and a Secondary Arcane, opening up interesting options to enhance its power. The Arcanes suggested here are recommendations rather than requirements. Newer players shouldn’t worry if they don’t have them yet—these are merely the icing on the cake for an already highly capable build.
Recommended Arcane Setup
- Primary Arcane: Crux
While it requires hitting weak spots, Crux activates frequently enough to provide significant benefits. If you prefer more straightforward damage, you can swap Crux out for Merciless, but I found the extra status procs from Crux extremely effective since follow-up hits aren’t always guaranteed. Over time, the elemental status effects will burn down enemies efficiently. - Secondary Arcane: Enervate
Ideal for weapons with low Critical Chance, Enervate allows you to enjoy critical hits without heavily investing in crit-focused mods. This makes playing with the Arbucep more rewarding and fun.
Key Consideration: Elemental Damage on All Rockets
One important note is that every elemental mod you add applies to all six rockets. This means each rocket will deal both its innate elemental damage and any additional elements you’ve modded on, maximizing overall impact.
Suggested Mod Build for the Arbucep
- Primed Rubedo-Lined Barrel / Rubedo-Lined Barrel
A solid boost to base damage provides a strong foundation for the build. - Parallax Scope
Increases Critical Chance to complement Enervate. If you prefer, this can be swapped for a fire rate mod depending on your playstyle. - Hollowed Bullets
Adds additional Critical Damage for more powerful crits. - Magnetized Cycle
Adds Magnetic damage and improves Fire Rate, enhancing both elemental damage and overall performance. - Dual Rounds
Grants Multishot, which actually increases damage on the Arbucep rather than creating additional projectiles, making it highly effective. - Venomous Clip
Adds Toxin damage that synergizes with the next mod to create Viral damage. - Polar Magazine
Adds Cold damage, combining with Toxin from Venomous Clip to produce Viral damage. - Magma Chamber
Adds Heat damage along with increased status chance.
Build Philosophy
Recently, I’ve focused on creating weapon builds that I can rely on regardless of the enemy type I’m facing. This means incorporating a variety of elemental damage types with solid effects rather than chasing overkill with highly specialized builds. My aim is to provide builds that are practical and effective for the average player.
I hope this Arbucep build proves useful for you in any mission or enemy encounter you face. Enjoy wielding Nokko’s signature Archgun and dominate the battlefield!
