FromSoftware has announced a delay for the release of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, pushing it back to 2026. The studio made this decision to focus on improving the game’s performance on Nintendo’s upcoming console, the Switch 2.
The delay was confirmed through an official statement shared by FromSoftware on X. Elden Ring Tarnished Edition was initially revealed during the Switch 2 Direct event in April, generating significant excitement among fans.
The game was also playable at Gamescom in August. However, player feedback highlighted concerningly poor performance issues with the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring Tarnished Edition. In response, FromSoftware cited these performance challenges as the primary reason for postponing the release.
By taking additional time to optimize the game, FromSoftware aims to deliver a more polished experience on Nintendo’s new hardware when the game eventually launches in 2026.
