In the original **Kirby Air Ride**, there was a lighthearted and fun mode known as **Top Ride**. This mode offered players a top-down racing experience reminiscent of classic games like *Off Road* and *Super Off Road*. Fans will be happy to know that Top Ride is making a return in **Kirby Air Riders**, now featuring several upgrades designed to make it enjoyable for up to eight players.
Top Ride was a major highlight during the recent Kirby Air Riders Nintendo Direct presentation. In this mode, players race around tracks with the camera positioned overhead. The camera can follow a single player, scan across groups, or provide an overview of the entire track, especially useful when many players are competing.
One of the exciting new features of Top Ride is its support for eight racers. You can compete solo against seven bots, enjoy local multiplayer with up to four players on the same Switch, or go online to race with up to eight players. If you don’t have a full lobby, the remaining slots can be filled with computer-controlled bots, ensuring every race feels lively and competitive.
Kirby Air Riders promises to be an engaging and entertaining party game for Kirby fans. With a variety of modes including classic Air Ride races, a battle royale-style City Trial, and now the revamped Top Ride, players will have plenty of options for different racing experiences.
Having had a chance to try early builds of the game, we’re optimistic about how Kirby Air Riders is shaping up. It looks set to deliver fun, accessibility, and plenty of multiplayer action for Kirby enthusiasts everywhere.
