Japan’s animation industry experienced significant growth in 2024, expanding by 14.8% to reach record revenues of $25 billion (JPY 3.8 trillion). Much of this impressive increase was driven by strong demand from overseas markets.
These insights come from a report presented by the Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) at TIFFCOM. The report was introduced by Megumi Onouchi, AJA committee member and CEO of Japan’s HumanMedia Inc.
