Getting weapons in Warframe to the point where they can do the required damage to matter in the game’s tougher content can take a lot of time and investment. From Catalysts to Forma and Adapters, you can find yourself investing a significant amount of your hard-earned resources—and nobody wants to do that with the wrong weapon.
So, is the Glaxion Vandal worth it in Warframe?
### Glaxion Vandal: A Worthy Upgrade?
The Glaxion Vandal is indeed better than the standard Glaxion. It boasts higher base damage, increased critical chance and status chance, larger magazine size, faster reload speed, and greater ammo reserves. These improvements make it a clear winner over the normal Glaxion. If you are a fan of the Glaxion, then the Vandal version is certainly an upgrade in almost every way.
However, it’s important to note that the Glaxion Vandal is not as powerful as the Tenet Glaxion, which I consider the best in class for this weapon. The Tenet Glaxion is generally more worthy of your investment if you are aiming for long-term effectiveness, especially in the toughest content.
### Should New Players Consider the Glaxion Vandal?
If you are new to Warframe and looking for a weapon that can perform well into the early Steel Path content, the Glaxion Vandal can work—though it demands quite a bit of investment. Since the Tenet Glaxion can be acquired from a Sister of Parvos, holding out until you can get your hands on one is the smarter move. Still, the Glaxion Vandal remains a solid option if you want something reliable in the meantime.
### Additional Benefits and Mods
The Glaxion Vandal is compatible with the Photon Overcharge mod, which you can purchase from Nora’s Nightwave shop using Cred Offerings when it’s available in the prize rotation. This mod increases critical damage and grants a 2% chance to drop an energy orb for each Cold Status kill or assist, significantly boosting sustain and damage output.
### Recommended Build Approach
Above, you’ll find my preferred Tenet Glaxion build, which works just as well on the Glaxion Vandal. This build pairs excellently with Frost, utilizing his fourth ability for armor stripping. Once armor is stripped, the Glaxion’s beams and Gas procs can effortlessly tear through enemies.
If you don’t have an alternate source of armor stripping, swap out Thermite Rounds for High Voltage or another Electric mod to shift the damage type from Gas to Corrosive. For extra punch, consider subsuming Nourish on your Warframe to add easy Viral damage, increasing your overall effectiveness.

In summary, the Glaxion Vandal is a worthwhile upgrade over the standard Glaxion and can serve well into mid-level content with proper investment. However, for the best possible performance and long-term value, the Tenet Glaxion remains the top choice.
