The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens just days before the NFL trade deadline.
Alexander, along with a 2027 seventh-round pick, was sent from the Ravens to the Eagles in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Both teams have officially announced the trade.
The 28-year-old defensive back was midway through his first season with Baltimore after spending seven years with the Green Bay Packers. Alexander left Green Bay to test free agency. He earned Pro Bowl honors in 2020 and 2022 but faced challenges in recent seasons due to injuries and inconsistent performance.
This season, Alexander has only played in two games—against the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans—recording five tackles. He did not play in Baltimore’s recent Thursday night win over the Miami Dolphins, which marked Lamar Jackson’s return to the field.
Over his career, Alexander has accumulated 292 tackles and 12 interceptions.
The Eagles currently hold a 6-2 record and rank 18th in points allowed and 20th in yards allowed this season. Alexander is expected to join Philadelphia’s practice squad this week as the team prepares for their Week 9 bye.
Stay tuned for more updates on this trade and the Eagles’ progress this season.
