The New York Jets are facing some significant decisions ahead of the Tuesday, November 4 NFL trade deadline. NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero highlighted defensive tackle Quinnen Williams as a key player to watch.
“Quinnen Williams is a guy who is still young, especially at a position where you can play for a long time. But you would be getting potential value here,” Pelissero said on *The Rich Eisen Show*. “The price on Quinnen Williams would be, I would anticipate, a first-round pick and more. You actually might have offers in that range for Quinnen Williams. If you’re looking to accelerate your rebuild, making those types of big, bold decisions is one way you can do it. So I would keep an eye on the Jets.”
Pelissero added, “They aren’t actively shopping Quinnen Williams, but it would not shock me at minimum if they have the type of offers put in front of them sometime in the next four days that’ll give them something to think about prior to Tuesday.”
### Insiders Reiterate the Jets’ Strategy Ahead of the Trade Deadline
Pelissero also noted, “They actually do have a bunch of players that would make sense [to trade], but they are not going to take pennies on the dollar.” The Jets have “gotten plenty of calls for their top players. Breece Hall, Quinnen Williams, and Jermaine Johnson II have drawn headlines for the Jets. All would require a high price—perhaps too high for what acquiring teams would want to pay.”
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport added further insight, explaining that “an offer a team can’t refuse would likely be necessary, with Jets GM Darren Mougey [not] conducting anything close to a fire sale. More likely, it’ll be closer to players such as Michael Carter II (who was sent to Philadelphia last week).”
ESPN’s Rich Cimini echoed these sentiments, writing, “Barring an offer they can’t refuse, the Jets won’t trade running back Breece Hall. You can put defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and defensive end Will McDonald IV in this category, too.”
### Other Jets Players to Watch Ahead of the Trade Deadline
Zack Rosenblatt of *The Athletic* predicted that linebacker Quincy Williams will be traded to the San Francisco 49ers for a day-three draft pick. This move would reunite Williams with Robert Saleh, the former Jets head coach who is now the defensive coordinator in San Francisco.
“Williams is the one to watch because he’s in the final year of his contract. The San Francisco 49ers, who have former Jets coach Robert Saleh as the defensive coordinator, have a need at linebacker,” Cimini noted.
Regarding Jermaine Johnson, Cimini revealed, “He was told by the front office that he won’t be traded; that hasn’t stopped teams from calling.”
At 1-7, many would assume the Jets are poised to become sellers at the trade deadline. However, Cimini cautioned not to discount the possibility of the Jets making moves in the opposite direction. “Safety and offensive line are two position groups to watch,” he wrote.
As the deadline approaches, the Jets’ front office will have to weigh the value of potential trade offers against their long-term rebuilding plans — all while considering which players might best help them compete now versus later. Fans can expect a busy few days as the Jets navigate these tough decisions.
