When it comes to the best gaming headsets, I love me some RGB lighting. I’m well aware they aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, as they can be a battery drain and sometimes look tacky or unsightly. But the Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless headset looks so good, it could bring out the RGB fan in anyone.
The wheels of LED lighting on the Corsair cups are so bright and luminous they remind me of something out of a Kubrick movie. That futuristic aesthetic, however, comes at a high price. Thankfully, it doesn’t today — the headset is currently just $179.99 on Amazon, the lowest price I’ve spotted since launch.
### Should You Buy the Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless in 2025?
First off, I want to clarify that the photos I’ve used here show the silver version of the Corsair Virtuoso Max, not the Carbon Black version that’s currently $150 off on Amazon. I was supplied with the silver version when I did my Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless review, so that’s what I have handy to show off its stunningly bright RGB lighting.
With that out of the way, I hope those photos still demonstrate just how luminous these RGBs really are. Out of any headset I’ve reviewed to date, I’ve always found the lighting on this Corsair headset to be the most striking due to its high intensity.
Even if you’re not huge on RGB lighting, the Virtuoso Max Wireless remains a great headset choice in 2025. At the now $179.99 price point, you’re getting access to active noise cancellation (ANC), fantastic sound from its 50mm Custom Graphene audio drivers, one of my favorite microphones found in a headset, and simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4GHz audio connectivity.
This means you can connect it to your smartphone and your PC, Xbox, or PS5 at the same time. Personally, I use the latter setup to swipe through TikToks in between Marvel Rival matches — and it’s nice not having to remove my headset every time I switch devices.
Weighing in at 417g, the Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless is relatively hefty, so I still recommend taking it off every once in a while to give your head a break. The weight and the original $329.99 MSRP were my biggest concerns in my initial review, but there’s no need to worry about the price anymore with Amazon dropping $150 off.
In summary, if you’re after a premium wireless gaming headset with standout RGB lighting, excellent sound quality, and versatile connectivity options, the Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless at $179.99 is an excellent buy in 2025.
