On November 4, 2025, Nintendo released its Q2 FY26 earnings report, revealing an updated hardware sales forecast for the Switch 2. The company now expects to sell nearly 20 million units during the 2026 fiscal year ending March 31, 2026.
It’s important to note that this forecast does not cover a full year, as the Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June 5, 2025. Previously, Nintendo had set its sales expectations at 15 million Switch 2 units for the year. This marks a significant increase of 4 million units since the May 2025 forecast.
In addition to boosting sales projections, Nintendo is ramping up production, aiming to manufacture 25 million Switch 2 consoles by March 2026 to meet growing demand.
