Crusader Kings 3 has continued to receive plenty of interesting content since Paradox Interactive released it in 2020. Most recently, the game expanded its map to cover much of Asia, bringing Chinese, Japanese, and Southeast Asian content into its grand strategy experience.
Even this far into its lifecycle, Paradox remains dedicated to creating more content for the fans who want to dive deeper into Crusader Kings 3 and its expansions. I had the opportunity to speak with QA Manager Riad Deneche and Producer Lucia Dzediti about how the game has evolved and how the team keeps the base game exciting while introducing new features.
**All Under Heaven: A Long-Awaited Expansion**
The Asian continent has been on the periphery of Crusader Kings 3 campaigns since its launch in 2020. Until now, players only had features like The Silk Road economic storyline to get a glimpse into the rich history of the region. The new expansion, All Under Heaven, finally addresses the constant requests to include Asian politics and leaders in the grand strategy.
All Under Heaven introduces a wealth of famous rulers spread throughout China and the rest of Asia. Paradox took great pride in fulfilling this fan request and invested significant effort into studying the history and culture of far Eastern leaders to do their stories justice. The team cited historical research and its implementation as one of the most enjoyable parts of the development process.
**Bridging East and West**
Of course, All Under Heaven doesn’t neglect players who prefer to focus on Western civilizations. The Silk Road storylines have been expanded and enriched, ensuring that the politics and narratives introduced in this expansion also influence Western campaigns if you choose to engage with them.
Overall, All Under Heaven breathes new life into Crusader Kings 3, offering fresh perspectives and expanded content that enrich the grand strategy experience for both longtime players and newcomers alike.
