Thunder Rosa is eager for the opportunity to step back in the ring with Britt Baker, but remains uncertain if that matchup will happen at an AEW event anytime soon.
During a recent appearance on the podcast *Masks, Mats and Mayhem*, Rosa was asked whether she and Baker will ever resume their heated rivalry. She responded, “Again, it’s not up to me. It’s not up to her. It’s up to the people above us. And that’s [above] my pay grade. I would love to. I think it would be a good idea to close the chapter on our story and do it right. That’s what I’m saying—it’s time to finish the story.”
While Rosa is clearly enthusiastic about the chance to “finish the story,” she was quick to emphasize that the decision lies beyond her control. “It’s not up to me. It’s not up to her,” she reiterated, before adding that booking decisions are “above my pay grade.”
Reflecting on what continuing their feud could mean, Rosa noted, “I think it’s a matter of respect, right? Like, she might feel disrespected. She wants to get the respect back from the locker room.”
The rivalry between Rosa and Baker dates back to 2020 and 2021, highlighted by Rosa ending Baker’s reign as AEW Women’s World Champion. Earlier this year, Rosa put out a challenge for a hair vs. hair match against Baker at AEW All In: Texas, but the challenge went unanswered.
Britt Baker hasn’t wrestled for AEW since November 2024, when she defeated Penelope Ford on an episode of *AEW Dynamite*. That match represented only the fifth time Baker competed in 2024. Although Baker is reportedly still under contract, she has been absent from AEW programming for a full year.
Should Britt Baker make her return to AEW television, Thunder Rosa will be ready and waiting. For now, however, while Rosa remains an active competitor on AEW shows, Baker’s future with the promotion is unclear.
As AEW heads toward its final pay-per-view of the year, *Worlds End* in December, there is no indication that Baker will be returning to the ring soon, or that Rosa will get the chance to “finish the story” in the near future.
