**Shah Rukh Khan’s King Set to Become India’s Costliest Action Film**

Shah Rukh Khan-led *King* is getting bigger and better by the day. Having pulled off the biggest casting coup, the Siddharth Anand-directed action thriller is touted to be the biggest action film in Indian cinema.

Reliable sources have confirmed that the budget of *King* will be around Rs. 350 crores, excluding the amount that SRK and the team plan to spend on print, publicity, and other ancillary expenses.

**A Film on a Grand Scale**

Originally, *King* started as an action thriller with an extended cameo from Shah Rukh Khan and Sujoy Ghosh as the director. The initial budget was Rs. 150 crores, but the script had the scope to go bigger and better.

When Siddharth Anand came on board, he collaborated with SRK to elevate the film to a grand scale by designing action sequences on an unprecedented scale. SRK, known as a producer who loves to invest heavily in delivering rich visual spectacles to audiences, gave Siddharth Anand a free hand. The director came back with a revised budget of Rs. 350 crores.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “SRK saw the vision of Sid and was spellbound by the concept he had envisioned.”

**A Global Film Made in India**

*King* is being made as a global film in India. What costs millions of dollars to execute in the West, Siddharth Anand aims to achieve at one-fifth of the cost. The film features six extraordinary action sequences designed to perfection.

Three of these sequences are being filmed at real locations, while the other three will be shot on elaborate sets. Big bucks are also being spent on SRK’s introductory sequence, which is said to be a major highlight of the film.

**Production and Release**

Directed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Gauri Khan and Mamta Anand, *King* is slated for release in 2026.
