Somehow, some way, the Bears found a way to win a football game. Part of me is still annoyed, but it was a win, and in the NFL, you never apologize for winning.

## Bears Instant Grades
### Offense
**QB Caleb Williams | A**
Caleb Williams led the Bears to a win despite his pass-catchers failing him with numerous drops. It wasn’t his best performance, but with pretty much everyone except Rome dropping passes, the offense struggled to capitalize. Williams needs to be quicker on the trigger and take more shots from the pocket. If the wideouts had simply cut their drops in half, the Bears probably win comfortably. I’ll let Patrick break down the tape later in the week, but I had a hard time finding many issues with Caleb’s game in this one.
**RB Kyle Monangai & D’Andre Swift | C-**
Against one of the worst run defenses in the NFL, the Bears labored to reach 100 rushing yards. The backs themselves weren’t too bad, but the play calling certainly didn’t help. This was a letdown after last week’s strong performance from Kyle Monangai.

**WR DJ Moore | D**
DJ Moore had a couple of early drops and seemed to get banged up during the game.
**WR Rome Odunze | B-**
Initially graded a B, but that dropped catch from Caleb in the 4th quarter when the Bears were down 20-10 cost him.

**WR Olamide Zaccheaus | F**
Another dropped pass from Zaccheaus. I can’t help but think if he had caught that ball in the end zone in the first half, the Bears would have won this game.
**TE Colston Loveland | B-**
Loveland showed a solid effort today. He had a drop like many others in the first half but impressed with his blocking and overall production.
**Offensive Line | C-**
The lack of a running game today against one of the league’s worst run defenses falls on the offensive line’s shoulders. If it wasn’t for Caleb’s escapability in the pocket, they would have surrendered multiple sacks.

### Defense
**Defensive Line | D**
Too many missed tackles, too many easy designed quarterback runs, and not enough pressure on the opposing QB.

**Linebackers | F**
Noah Sewell’s missed tackle on Tyrone Tracy in the second half sealed their grade. Simply unacceptable.
**Secondary | F**
If Nashon Wright had caught a ball directly into his hands before halftime, the game could have been very different. Tyrique Stevenson got beaten multiple times, and there were far too many wide-open receivers.
—
### Special Teams
**K Cairo Santos | D**
Multiple times, the Bears had to go for it on 4th down instead of opting for a field goal attempt inside 50 yards. I don’t care about the windy weather; that’s unacceptable.
**P Tory Taylor | F**
Taylor had several opportunities to pin the Giants inside the 10 but instead resulted in touchbacks.

### Coaching
**Ben Johnson | D**
Not Ben Johnson’s best day calling plays. Sure, some wide receivers dropped easy passes, but his playcalling left much to be desired.
**Dennis Allen | D-**
The defense was bad today. While Allen is dealing with injuries in the secondary, too many easy pitch-and-catch opportunities were given up to opposing quarterbacks.

Despite the rough patches and plenty to improve upon, a win is a win in the NFL. Hopefully, the Bears can clean up the mistakes and build on this victory moving forward.
