LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The No. 2 Kentucky volleyball team continued its dominance in the SEC with a 3-1 victory over No. 19 Tennessee on Sunday evening, maintaining an undefeated conference record of 13-0.
A crowd of 6,236 fans packed the Historical Memorial Coliseum for a “BLUE OUT,” marking the third-largest attendance in program history and the biggest turnout since 1983.
Tennessee took the first set 25-22, but Kentucky bounced back strong, winning the next three sets 25-23, 25-18, and 25-18 to secure the match.
The Wildcats hit .252 on the night and recorded 14 blocks compared to Tennessee’s seven. Eva Hudson led Kentucky with 19 kills, closely followed by Brooklyn DeLeye with 18. Kassie O’Brien contributed significantly with 12 digs and 40 assists.
Looking ahead, Kentucky has two more SEC home matches remaining. The Wildcats will host Oklahoma on Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., and then face Arkansas on Sunday, Nov. 16, at 1 p.m.
