Art Filled Downtown City Park in Paso Robles Over the Weekend
Visitors enjoyed browsing paintings, carvings, and photography under clear November skies as art filled the Downtown City Park in Paso Robles over the weekend. Artists showcased a variety of media including paintings, photography, wood carvings, and more, offering their work for sale to the public.
Strolling through the maze of booths, visitors took in the vibrant display of creativity on a sunny November day. Many artists expressed satisfaction with the event’s success.
“I’ve sold more artwork this visit,” said David Bodell of Los Angeles. Bodell specializes in creating unique wood and metal lamps made from pipes, fixtures, and bulbs. He added, “People are opening their wallets more this year.” When not crafting artwork, Bodell works on maintenance for Catholic buildings in the Los Angeles area. During the event, he planned a side trip to Mission San Miguel to admire the artwork there.
Michael Rumsey from San Diego showcased his elaborate wooden surfboards and stand-up paddleboards. “People usually call me a week after the show,” he explained. “That’s when I generally make the sale.”
Local artist Melissa Beveridge from San Luis Obispo displayed her animal portraits, including a special series featuring animals from Woods Humane Society. Proceeds from her portraits benefit Woods and other rescue shelters in the area.
Artists traveled from across California to participate, though many were local creators enjoying a beautiful fall day in the heart of Paso Robles’ Downtown City Park. The event provided a wonderful opportunity for the community to connect with artists and support local art.
