**With A Trace Quest Guide – Security**
*With A Trace* is one of the many quests you will receive from Shani in the Security area. In this quest, Shani asks you to investigate a downed machine and determine who is responsible for bringing it down.

### Quest Overview
The quest *With A Trace* consists of four main steps, all taking place on **The Blue Gate** map. Upon completing the quest, you will be rewarded with a **Looting Mk. 2 Augment** and a **Medium Shield**.

1. **Reach the Barren Clearing**
2. **Find signs of who brought down the ARC machines**

### Step 1: Where to Find the Barren Clearing
The Barren Clearing is located on the northwest side of **The Blue Gate** map. You will find it to the left of the Raider’s Refuge. This area is notable for its lack of trees and is littered with giant ARC machines scattered around.

### Step 2: Find Signs of Who Brought Down the ARC Machines
Once you arrive at the Barren Clearing, head to the southwest side of the area near the main wreckage. Look closely toward the base of one of the large machine legs. There, you should find a ball-shaped object. A yellow **Investigate** prompt will appear when you are close enough. Interact with the round joint to complete this step and advance to the next phase.

### Step 3: Where to Find the Adorned Wreckage
Next, you need to locate the Adorned Wreckage, which is a different spot on **The Blue Gate** map. This area lies south of the Barren Clearing. Look for a large wreckage covered in numerous cables and dishes, making it stand out from the surroundings.

### Step 4: Where to Find the Communications Device
After reaching the Adorned Wreckage, search for a computer terminal on the south side of the area. There will be a yellow-highlighted computer that you need to turn on. Activating this terminal completes the final step of the *With A Trace* quest.
