The next Mass Effect game (presumably Mass Effect 5, though it remains untitled at this time) was announced back in 2020. However, leading up to that announcement, BioWare hadn’t had the smoothest journey, and unfortunately, the situation hasn’t improved much since then.
Despite these challenges, BioWare and Electronic Arts made sure not to let N7 Day pass without addressing fans’ concerns. The next Mass Effect game is still very much in development, and both companies remain committed to its eventual release.
On N7 Day 2025, BioWare published a blog post to update the community on the status of the upcoming title. In the post, the developers reassured fans that the game is actively being worked on and remains a priority for the studio.
Although the wording in the Mass Effect blog suggests that we won’t see significant news or updates about the game for a while, the team is keeping fans engaged in other ways. This includes preparing new Mass Effect-themed merchandise and creating crossover content featuring the franchise within other Electronic Arts properties.
While the wait continues, it’s clear that BioWare’s dedication to Mass Effect remains strong, and fans can look forward to exciting things down the line.
