Pokémon Pokopia is still a ways off, with its release scheduled for March 2026, but Nintendo and Koei Tecmo have been sharing plenty of intriguing and quirky details about the game. Recently, an extended trailer revealed new Pokémon variants that will assist you on your adventure, as well as other exciting features.

Among the new Pokémon shown are a sickly-looking Pikachu, affectionately dubbed Peakychu, a moss-covered Snorlax called Mosslax, and a Tangrowth that collects human junk. These unique variants are expected to play special roles within the overall story of Pokopia.

The trailer also introduced us to Professor Tangrowth, a character who will assist our kid-shaped Ditto protagonist in learning new Pokémon abilities. These abilities will be essential for managing the player’s home and farming area throughout the game.

Pokopia was first revealed during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, and it promises a builder-style experience on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. Players will take on the role of a Ditto transformed into a child, managing a home, camp, and farm. The extended trailer gave us a closer look at catching Pokémon such as Scyther, Charmander, Squirtle, and more. Additionally, players will be able to adapt some of their powers to their Ditto character to help manage their property.

Exciting new features were also showcased, including a Photo Mode that allows players to capture pictures of their in-game surroundings and companions. Another highlight is GameShare, which enables co-op gameplay with up to four players in a single session. Notably, co-op play through GameShare can even be enjoyed locally on original Nintendo Switch systems.

With these innovative features and charming new Pokémon variants, Pokopia is shaping up to be a unique and engaging Pokémon experience worth looking forward to in March 2026.
