The BBC has issued a half-hearted apology concerning a recent controversy. Alongside the apology, there have been calls for a full retraction and compensation. However, the broadcaster appears unwilling to comply with these demands.
A statement from the BBC press office read, “While the BBC sincerely regrets the manner in which the video clip was edited, we strongly disagree there is a basis for a defamation claim.”
At this point, it remains unclear what exactly former President Donald Trump would consider appropriate compensation.
