**IFTDA Files Complaint Against Paparazzi for Breaching Dharmendra’s Privacy Amid Health Scare**
Bollywood veteran Dharmendra has been at the center of media attention recently after reports emerged claiming that the actor was on a ventilator. As speculation grew, paparazzi gathered outside both his residence and the hospital where he was admitted, resulting in a wave of unverified updates spreading across social media. Several portals even prematurely announced his death, adding to the confusion and concern among fans and well-wishers.
### IFTDA Takes Action Against Paparazzi
In response to this invasive coverage, the Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA) President Ashoke Pandit has filed a formal police complaint against certain paparazzi and digital media accounts for violating Dharmendra’s privacy.
In his letter addressed to Senior Inspector of Police Sunil Jadhav, Pandit stated:
“I, Ashoke Pandit, Hon. President of the Indian Film & Television Directors’ Association (IFTDA), wish to lodge a formal complaint against certain unverified and scrupulous paparazzi and online media handlers who have crossed all limits of decency and ethics in the recent coverage related to the illness of Padma Bhushan, Shri Dharmendra Ji, one of the most respected legends of Indian cinema.”
### Violation of Privacy and Trespass
The complaint alleges that some media personnel entered Dharmendra’s residence premises without consent and recorded visuals of his family members. These videos were circulated online, reportedly for “sensationalism and profit.” The IFTDA emphasized that this behavior amounts to a gross violation of privacy and dignity, citing offences related to trespassing, invasion of privacy, and defamation.
Calling the conduct “inhuman, unethical, and a gross violation of the right to privacy guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India,” the association urged the police to take strict legal action. They stressed the need to set a precedent that would deter similar incidents in the future.
### Update on Dharmendra’s Health
Earlier this week, reports stated that Dharmendra was on life support, which increased media scrutiny. However, his family soon clarified that while the actor was under medical supervision, he was responding positively to treatment. Dharmendra was discharged from the hospital on November 12 and is currently receiving care at home.
### Sunny Deol Appeals for Privacy
Following Dharmendra’s return home, his son Sunny Deol expressed frustration over the constant presence of photographers outside their residence. In an emotional interaction with the media, he said:
“Aap logon ko sharam aani chahiye. Aapke ghar mein maa-baap hain, bacche hain,” urging the media to respect their privacy during this difficult time.
### Industry Voices Concern
Several members of the film fraternity have also voiced their concern over the escalating intrusion, calling for restraint and responsible reporting to protect the family’s dignity.
