### Obituary Submission Checklist
**General Information:**
– Your full name
– Address (City, State, Zip Code)
– Phone number
– Alternate phone number (if available)
**Obituary Specification:**
– Name of Deceased
– Obituary Text
– Photo (preferably in JPEG or PDF; TIF and other file types are accepted. We will contact you if there are any issues with the photo.)
– Ad Run Dates (please note: discounts are available for notices that run more than one day, but these must be arranged on the first run date. If using a photo, it must appear for each day the obituary runs to be eligible for a discount.)

### Publication Policies
**Verification of Death:**
A name and phone number for the funeral home or cremation society handling arrangements is required. We must contact them during business hours to verify the death. If the deceased’s body was donated to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program, or a similar program, their phone number is required for verification. Alternatively, you may provide a death certificate (only one form of verification is necessary). Please allow sufficient time for this process, especially on weekends.
**Guestbook and Outside Websites:**
We do not reference guestbooks or obituaries published on other media platforms in print or online notices. However, we can include a funeral home website or a family email for contact. Contact us if you have questions about this policy.

### Obituary Process
Once your submission is complete, we will send a proof via fax or email for your review before publication. The proof will include pricing and scheduled run dates.
Please review your proof carefully. Notify us of any errors or changes before the notice is published. We are not responsible for errors reported after publication.
**Online Changes:**
Changes to online obituaries can be handled through our obituary desk. Please call us for assistance.

### Payment Procedure
All obituary notices require pre-payment before publication. After you approve your proof, please call 651-228-5263 to provide your payment information.
**Payment Methods:**
– *Credit Card*: Accepted by phone only, per PCI regulations.
– *EFT (Check by Phone)*: Provide routing and account numbers.

### Rates
– Minimum charge: **$162** for the first 12 lines.
– Each additional line: **$12**.
– Obituaries with fewer than 12 lines will be charged the minimum.
– Obituaries over 40 lines receive a **7.5% discount per line**.
– Second run date: **20% discount** for both the first and second placement.
– Place three obituaries, and the third placement is **free of charge**.
– Each photo published: **$125 per day** (e.g., two photos for two days = four charges, totaling $500).

### Memoriam Notices
A memoriam is a remembrance of a loved one who has passed, distinct from an obituary. Rates for memoriams differ. For information and to place a memoriam, please call 651-228-5280 or email us.
