Sarah Ferguson Faces New Setback as Children’s Book Pulled from Sale
Sarah Ferguson has suffered a fresh setback after her new children’s book, Flora and Fern: Kindness Along The Way, was quietly withdrawn from sale.
Originally scheduled for release on 9 October, according to trade publication The Bookseller, the launch date for Flora and Fern was first delayed, with Amazon listing a revised publication date of 20 November. However, as of this week, the title has disappeared from Amazon altogether.
Analytics firm NielsenIQ Book Data confirmed to the BBC that the title is now officially marked as “withdrawn from sale” at the request of the publisher. New Frontier Publishing, which was due to release the book, has not responded to repeated requests for comment.
Flora and Fern: Kindness Along The Way was set to be the latest addition to Sarah Ferguson’s children’s series. The Duchess of York has published more than 70 books, including beloved titles such as Budgie the Little Helicopter and Little Red for children, as well as the romantic novel Her Heart for a Compass for adults.
This news comes at a sensitive time for Sarah, 66, whose public profile remains under intense scrutiny following renewed attention surrounding her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. The fallout from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s scandal—including renewed examination of his connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein—has placed further pressure on the Duchess.
The withdrawal of Flora and Fern: Kindness Along The Way raises questions about the future of Sarah Ferguson’s children’s publishing projects, which have long been a key part of her public and creative life.
After her former husband announced that he would give up his royal titles, a source told HELLO! that Sarah supports his decision. “She will always support her former husband’s decisions and do anything for the King. For her, this will not make a big difference,” the source said. “We are enjoying each other’s company and feeling grateful today.”
Royal Biographer Comments on Duchess’s Wellbeing
Royal biographer Robert Jobson recently shared on HELLO!’s A Right Royal Podcast that Sarah Ferguson is “not doing great,” citing the ongoing media scrutiny around her and her involvement in her ex-husband’s controversy. Following her reported eviction from Royal Lodge, it’s believed that Sarah is seeking privacy during this challenging period.
Stay tuned for further updates on the Duchess of York’s publishing plans and her current situation.
