The Green Bay Packers ended their two-game losing streak with a narrow 27-20 victory over the New York Giants. The game was effectively sealed when Evan Williams intercepted Jameis Winston in the end zone with just 36 seconds remaining.
With the win, the Packers improved to a 6-3-1 record, while the Giants fell to 2-9. The Giants were driving late in the game, facing a critical third-and-6 from the Packers’ 14-yard line. Winston attempted to connect with Jalin Hyatt in the end zone, but Williams’ interception abruptly ended the Giants’ hopes.
Although the Giants managed to get the ball back with 10 seconds left, Winston was immediately pressured. Micah Parsons forced a strip-sack, and Rashan Gary recovered the fumble, securing the win for Green Bay. Parsons had an outstanding performance, tallying six tackles, 1.5 sacks, three quarterback hits, and a forced fumble.
Starting his first game of the season, Winston finished with 19 completions on 29 attempts for 201 yards, one interception, and one fumble. Despite the loss, the Giants actually outgained the Packers 336 yards to 296.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love missed seven plays in the first half due to a left shoulder injury, leaving backup Malik Willis to finish what was a touchdown drive. Love completed 13 of 24 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns. Willis was 2-of-2 for 6 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown pass to Christian Watson.
Watson was a key contributor in the Packers’ victory, hauling in a spectacular 17-yard touchdown catch from Love that gave Green Bay the winning points with 4:02 remaining. He finished with four receptions for 46 yards. Another big play came from Savion Williams, who made a crucial 32-yard reception on third-and-10, setting up Watson’s game-winning touchdown deep in Giants territory.
On the ground, Josh Jacobs left the game in the first half with an ankle injury. Before exiting, he rushed for 40 yards on seven carries.
Overall, the Packers showcased resilience and timely plays to secure the hard-fought win and snap their losing skid.
