Quiet on the set! Local filmmakers are encouraged to submit their work for the ninth annual Cabin Fever Film Festival, co-hosted by the Franklin Park Performing and Visual Arts Center and the Purcellville Arts Council. The festival celebrates films created by Loudoun County residents and remains Purcellville’s only dedicated film festival. The two-day event will begin on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 at 7 p. m., with a reception held during the evening screening. The festival continues on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026 at 10 a. m., when awards will also be announced. A full schedule of screenings will be posted online on Jan. 14, 2026. Audiences are invited to shake off the winter blues and enjoy this long-standing showcase of local creativity. This year’s festival theme, “Independence,” honors the nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Winners in the categories of Best in Theme, Festival Favorite, and Most Likely to Break Cabin Fever will each receive $500 and a hand-crafted gift from a local artist. Festival organizers are proud to partner with Loudoun VA250, which will sponsor the Best in Theme award. Entries must be between 1 and 60 minutes in length and submitted in mp4 digital format on a flash drive. All genres-including live action, stop motion, and animation-are welcome, provided content remains appropriate for this family-friendly event.
