Tatum 65, Henderson 50 TATUM -Kamdyn Scott turned in a double-double with 26 points and 17 rebounds, freshman Emma Dygert tossed in 16 points and the Tatum Lady Eagles opened the season with a 65-50 win over Henderson. Scott also had two assists and three steals, and Dygert added eight assists, five rebounds and four steals. Kumora Chatman, another freshman, had seven points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals. Addyson Saunders finished with six points, two assists and six rebounds, Taliyah Dixon four points, six assists, four rebounds and three steals, Aaliyah Williams two steals, Jalyana Bishop an assist, a steal and a rebound, Brynn Downs two points and McKenley Mack four points and four rebounds. Williams, Downs and Mack are also freshmen. Jefferson 25, Troup 18 JEFFERSON Keinysa Wallace scored 12 points, and the Jefferson Lady Bulldogs rallied from an early deficit to earn a 25-18 win over Troup on Tuesday. Stormi McNeil added six points for Jefferson, which trailed 9-6 after one quarter, led 13-11 at the half and outscored Troup 9-0 in the third to take control. Aaliyah Gray had four points, Jade Mallory two and Janaa Goynes one for Jefferson. McNeil added eight rebounds for the Lady Bulldogs. Hawkins 46, Christian Heritage 26 HAWKINS Haylee Skipworth (14) and Alana Gipson (11) scored in double figures for Hawkins in a 46-26 win over Christian Heritage Classical School. CeeJai Gipson added eight points for Hawkins. Aftyn Serrano finished with five, Ava Ellison and Payton Christian three apiece and Karsyn Johnson one. Hawkins led 25-18 at the half and outscored CHCS 8-0 in the third. Brownsboro 55, Malakoff 32 BROWNSBORO The Brownsboro Bearettes used a 19-2 run in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 55-32 win over Malakoff on Tuesday. Chyann Stidham and Parmer Fitzgerald scored 15 points apiece for Brownsboro. Riley Smith had three, Sadie Piper eight, Ava Johnson three, Kynsie Daniels nine and Sarah Hughes two. Brownsboro (2-1) will play Terrell in the Mineola Tournament at noon Thursday. West Rusk 67, Carlisle 39 PRICE Kamyah Lacy and Gabby Coleman combined for 49 points leading the West Rusk Lady Raiders to a 68-39 win over the Carlisle Lady Indians on Tuesday. Kacy led with 29 points and Coleman had 20. Also scoring double digits was Kimora Pryor with 14 points. Lyric McCandless chipped in with four points and Alissa Nobles one. Hayden Curry scored 12 in the loss for Carlisle. Madison Nix added eight, Marely Jaime five, Aubree Thomas four, Starr Hernandez and Sam Espinoza three apiece and Leslie De Leon and Cindy Enriques two points each. Longview 89, Hallsville 29 LONGVIEW With a balanced attack from the starting five and solid production from the bench, the Longview Lady Lobos remained unbeaten on the young season Tuesday with a dominant 89-29 win over the Hallsville Ladycats at Lobo Coliseum. Four of the team’s five starters scored in double figures led by Jailiyah Rockmore’s 16 points and the Lady Lobo bench matched Hallsville’s scoring total with 29 points in a game that saw Longview go ahead less than two minutes into the contest and pull away for the win to move to 4-0 on the year. Hallsville drops to 2-1 with the loss.
