While Black Friday doesn’t technically start until November 28, it’s well and truly underway in Australia. Major retailers like JB Hi-Fi, Kogan and Amazon have set their sales live, but if you’ve been hoping for significant discounts on PlayStation 5 consoles, you’ve probably been disappointed so far. But there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel: I can confirm an avalanche of PS5 console discounts will occur on Friday, November 21. The listing price will be AU$549, but the coupon code PS5CON will get you the extra AU$100 off. Meanwhile, EB Games will offer the PS5 disc model for AU$643 and the PS5 Pro for AU$1,033, with that sale kicking off at 12: 01am on Friday, November 21. It gets potentially better, though: a user on OzBargain claims Big W will sell the PS5 disc model for AU$629, the digital model for AU$489, and the Pro for AU$999, starting on November 21. As we’ve seen before, Amazon will almost certainly price match these offers. Or at least, it’ll likely price match the Big W offers: the eBay coupon deal may be a bridge too far for the global retailer, which generally avoids matching coupon deals. Overall, though, I’m expecting Aussie retailers to fight bitterly for PS5 sales this Black Friday, starting from tomorrow.
