The Snake Doctor is one of Where Winds Meet’s optional battles, but it’s certainly one worth attempting. Located in the Qinghe region, what makes this battle incredibly tough isn’t the fight itself, as it is getting to the battle. Once you’re in his cave, there’s no respawn until you get past the swarm of poisonous snakes that can easily one-shot you. That’s the first major trick, but with enough jumping, or an Umbrella, you can get past it, and get right into the battle. Completionists will want to tackle the Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet, or perhaps you’re after the Star Reacher Tome. Either way, it’s a tough, but fun battle, once you get past his annoying swarm of snakes. Here’s everything you need to know about this battle. Location of Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet The Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet can be found in southern Qinghe, near the Encircling Lake. The best fast travel/Boundary Stone locations are either Back Mountain or Encircling Lake. It’s also nice to have flight by farming up enough Exploration Points, because it’s still quite a jog from either point. Drop down the cliff face and enter the cave, but watch out for the snakes! There are a few spots on the ground you can jump across to, and if you’re using an Umbrella weapon, you can jump, and slowly glide across most of them. If they kill you, you’ll be sent back to your last Boundary Stone, so that’s something to think about. Once you’re past them though, it’s time to fight Where Winds Meet’s Snake Doctor. Tips to beat Snake Doctor in Where Winds Meet 1) Phase 1 Snake Doctor’s attacks (Phase 1) Snake Charge: Pulls his staff back and charges forward. Parry or Dodge. Poison Mist Strike: Staff glows red and does a powerful overhead strike. If not Perfect Parried, will do wide swing, retreat, throw poison bottles, and leap in again. Perfect Parry for counterattack, or Dodge. Serpent Strike: Brief Golden Glow, followed by three snakes that shoot at you. Cannot be parried, must be Dodged. Roundhouse: Snake Doctor swings in with a brutal kick. Parry or Dodge. Staff Sweeps: Pulls his staff back and swings with it twice. Parry or Dodge. Two-Hit Combo: Sweeps his staff and follows with an uppercut. Parry or Dodge. Poison Flask: After sweeping at you, he leaps back and throws a poison bottle, and dashes in to overhead strike. Parry or Dodge. The Snake Doctor fight in Where Winds Meet is one you want to stay up close and personal with. Otherwise, he might just start hitting you with snakes and poisons, and that’s not fun. Stay close, parry often, and make sure to perfect parry any of his red glowing attacks. That’s where the real damage is. The Poison Mist Strike is his only red attack in phase 1, but he has a pair of them in phase 2. Even though I used a Vernal Umbrella for this fight, I stayed in melee range. Leaping Toad was great in this battle, and so was the Umbrella, for its constant damage, and its knockdown. Phase 1 isn’t very difficult, though. He’s got one attack you can’t parry, and for the most part, his strikes aren’t incredibly fast. You’ve probably faced more challenging fights by now. When you deplete his first health bar, phase 2 begins. 2) Phase 2 Snake Doctor’s attacks (Phase 2) Delayed Snake Strike: Makes his weapon glow red and after a delay dashes in to strike, and then jumping strikes. Perfect Parry for counterattack, or Dodge. Hidden Snake Charge: Throws three poison bottles down, and after a delay, staff glows red and he rushes in. Perfect Party for counterattack, or Dodge. Poison Bottle: He just throws poison at you. Parry or Dodge. Striking Shadow Snake: Spins his staff at you twice, then thrusts in for a third attack. Parry or Dodge. Poison Darts: Backflips away and throws a trio of poison darts. Parry or Dodge. Phase 2 of the Snake Doctor fight features a pair of perfect parry attacks, and while they’re a little on the tricky side, it won’t take too much stress to deal with. If you’re bad at parrying, like I can be, don’t be afraid to turn on Story Mode to get a slight advantage. The harder of the two is the Hidden Snake Charge because he delays a bit after throwing down the poison, which can obscure your vision. Just keep parrying and Executing him when you deplete his Qi Meter, to get lots of extra damage. He’s not a major threat compared to other Where Winds Meet bosses, but he does have some nice rewards: Zhou Coins x8, 000 Bone Shedding x1 Star Reacher: Tome x1 Medicinal Tales x3 Qinghe Exploration x50 Character EXP x8, 000 Echo Jade x20 Check out our other Where Winds Meet guides and features 5 strongest Martial Arts to use in Where Winds Meet Best Where Winds Meet character customization codes How to fly in Where Winds Meet: All Lightness Skills unlock guide Best beginner’s tips and tricks for Where Winds Meet.
