A shooting at a Limestone County retail store left one victim with no apparent life-threatening injury and resulted in the arrest of a suspect, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). The shooting occurred at the Dollar General store located on Alabama State Route 127 approximately two miles north of Athens, the sheriff’s office said Friday in an online post. LCSO deputies detained a suspect, but did not disclose the identity of the victim or of the suspect in the incident’s immediate aftermath. “At this time, all evidence indicates this was an isolated incident, and there is no further threat to the public,” the sheriff’s office noted. “We want to reassure our community that the situation is contained and secure.”.
