Martin’s Mill’s Archer Schneider has earned Tyler Morning Telegraph Boys Basketball Player of the Week honors for games played Nov. 24-29. Schneider averaged 29.0 points and 9.5 rebounds in wins over Onalaska and Central Heights.
In an 88-51 victory against Class 3A No. 5 Onalaska, Schneider recorded 31 points, 11 rebounds, five steals, and four deflections while shooting an impressive 64 percent from the field. In a 53-32 win over Central Heights, he posted 27 points and eight rebounds, going 8 of 9 on free throws and shooting 58 percent from the field.
Other outstanding performances in the area last week, as nominated by coaches, include:
– Tyler Legacy’s Zyere Ceasar, who averaged 16.6 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 2.0 blocks in games against Lake Highlands, Jacksonville, and Hallsville.
– KJ Cyres, who averaged 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
– Brice Foster, who averaged 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game while hitting 10 three-pointers.
– Van junior Rawly Hinch, who averaged 11.7 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.3 steals against Bonham, Sulphur Springs, and All Saints.
– Palestine’s Ashton Cook, who averaged 9.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.0 steals in three games.
– Mineola senior Ainsley Steward, who averaged 22.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game against West Rusk and Rains.
– Hawkins’ Brayden Givens, who averaged 21.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals against Broaddus and Timpson.
