The New England Revolution traded forward Tomas Chancalay to Minnesota United on Friday in exchange for $100,000, along with a percentage of any future transfer fees received for the Argentine forward.
Chancalay was initially loaned to the Revolution by Argentina’s Racing Club in July 2023. He became a permanent member of New England that November, posting 12 goals and three assists over 49 appearances (33 starts) across parts of three seasons. In 2025, he totaled four goals and two assists over 26 matches (12 starts).
“On behalf of the Revolution, I’d like to thank Tomas for his contributions during his time with our club,” sporting director Curt Onalfo said in a release. “We wish him and his family all the best as he begins this next chapter with Minnesota.”

### Minnesota United Updates
Minnesota United has frequently received inquiries from other MLS clubs and teams worldwide regarding the availability of left back Joseph Rosales.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the goaltender is nearing a deal with Inter Miami. Although Miami is set to pay him less than what he could have earned with Minnesota, negotiations are reportedly close to completion.
Additionally, Minnesota United will give the New York Red Bulls $475,000 in General Allocation Money for the 23-year-old player.
Following Minnesota United’s 1-0 loss to San Diego in the MLS Western Conference semifinals, questions remain about who will be back in 2026, including the future of head coach Eric Ramsay.
Notably, Dotson—who has appeared in 149 regular-season games for Minnesota United—demanded a trade during the preseason.
