Beal’s sister, Essence Zhane, shared a heartfelt statement on Facebook regarding his disappearance. “We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends,” Zhane said. “I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s. I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure.”
According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, the 29-year-old was last seen in July 2025 after dropping off his girlfriend at her house. Beal was supposed to use her car to drive to work; however, he allegedly made his way to Virginia Beach instead. The last confirmed sighting of Beal was in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
The missing person’s file states that Beal “did not bring anything with him aside from the clothes he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver’s license.” Additionally, the vehicle was found with Samuel’s shoes and socks on the floor of the front passenger seat, along with some sand on the floor.
A native of Michigan, Beal spent three seasons of his NFL career with the New York Giants. Before turning professional, he played college football at Western Michigan, where he was a standout defensive back. Over three college seasons, he recorded 96 combined tackles, 68 solo tackles, two interceptions, 19 passes defended, and one forced fumble.
Beal initially considered entering the 2018 NFL Draft but decided to stay in school for multiple reasons. He was projected to be a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft prior to his senior season. However, he changed his mind and instead applied to enter the 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft.
The New York Giants selected the former Second-team All-MAC cornerback in the third round of the Supplemental Draft. Unfortunately, Beal missed the entire 2018 season due to a shoulder injury.
During his two playing seasons with the Giants, Beal appeared in nine games, including three starts. Over that span, he logged 27 combined tackles, 21 solo tackles, and one tackle for loss.
Midway through the 2021 season, the Giants waived Beal from the active roster. He was briefly a member of the team’s practice squad but was released in December 2021.
The search continues as family and friends seek answers and hope for closure. Anyone with information regarding Beal’s whereabouts is urged to come forward and assist authorities.
