One hundred percent of the 2025 Oasis High School graduating class walked the stage and graduated, and the accolades did not stop there.
During a board meeting Tuesday, Oasis High School Principal Jackie Corey gave a presentation on how the senior class performed on test scores last year. Notably, the lowest 25% of students showed a 12% increase in their test scores, highlighting significant growth.
Corey also shared that U.S. History scores were off the charts, with an 11% increase. However, math scores for the lowest 25% experienced a decline. She explained that, despite a high-performing middle school producing strong math results, some struggling math students—who started at very low levels—had difficulty improving their scores.
The principal emphasized that the school is being very reflective and creative in addressing these challenges. One successful initiative has been the introduction of interactive notebooks—essentially laser-focused study guides used schoolwide—which have helped students become much more successful.
In addition to these academic achievements, Oasis High School students achieved a 100% pass rate in their English General Paper for Cambridge. Corey said the school encourages all juniors to take at least one Cambridge class, specifically the college-level General Paper course. “Every student in our building has access to a college course in our high school,” she noted.
Remarkably, 79% of their general education students who took the General Paper earned college credit, further demonstrating the school’s commitment to preparing students for higher education and success beyond high school.
